Layla AI Alternatives for Group Trip Planning (2026)
Layla AI alternatives for group trips: Aizzie, Wanderlog, Mindtrip and more on shared editing and offline use, and what friends see in a shared Layla trip.
Layla AI lets you share a trip for feedback, but on its web app recipients can only view it, and any changes they make go into their own copy. If your group needs one itinerary that everyone can change, Aizzie, Wanderlog and Mindtrip let tripmates edit the same trip.
If you plan on your own and want to book flights and hotels in the same chat, Layla is built for exactly that, and there is little reason to leave.
Aizzie is this site's product. The Layla statements below come from Layla's own website and its App Store listing, read on 17 September 2026, plus one sharing check on Layla's web app the same day, described in the sharing section. Layla's homepage was rechecked on 28 September. What this page says about the other tools comes from their official pages and App Store listings, as compiled for our comparison of free AI trip planners and our Aizzie vs Wanderlog comparison.
Key Takeaways
Aizzie and Layla both draft a day-by-day itinerary that you can change afterwards. The main difference is whether other people can edit that same trip.
On Layla's web app, a shared trip is view-only for the people you send it to, and changes they make go into their own copy. Aizzie trips are edited together in real time by invited tripmates.
Layla is the stronger choice for booking inside the planner, help from a human travel expert, and road-trip and multi-city route tools.
Wanderlog and Mindtrip let tripmates edit a shared itinerary, as Aizzie does, and Stardrift lets collaborators add and comment on items. Both tables on this page leave out prices on purpose.

If your group wants to edit one trip together instead of each keeping a copy, start it in Aizzie and invite them.
Layla works like a travel agent you talk to. According to its FAQ, you share your dates, destination, budget and travel style, and it builds a day-by-day plan using live pricing and availability. You then change the plan in conversation. Layla's about page gives the examples: swap a museum for a wine tour, add a day trip, or adjust the budget, and the schedule, routes and costs update to match.
Layla goes furthest on booking. Its about page names Booking.com, Skyscanner and GetYourGuide among its partners and covers flights, hotels, trains, car rentals, private transfers and activities. Layla's FAQ also says human travel experts can plan, book and manage a whole trip, and its homepage says that help comes at no extra planning cost.
Layla's interactive video map lays creators' travel videos over destinations, a multi-destination route map handles multi-city trips, and a road trip planner suggests scenic stops, driving times and overnight stays. Its chat runs in 16 languages, and since July 2026 the iOS app accepts images alongside PDFs in the chat.
Layla lets you share a trip to get feedback from your group. On Layla's web app, the people you share it with can see the trip, and any changes they make go into their own copy of it, not into yours.
Layla markets itself for group use. Its about page lists "Groups & friends: Coordinate schedules, share itineraries and manage budgets together", and the Share dialog on a trip reads "Share and get Feedback on your trip" and "Get suggestions from your group".
We checked this on Layla's web app, sharing a trip from a free account and opening the link from a second account. Logged out, the link showed a read-only trip page. Signed in, asking Layla's chat for a change created a new trip under the second account, and the original stayed as it was. Layla's mobile apps were not checked.
Aizzie handles a shared trip the other way round. You invite tripmates to the trip itself, set view or edit permission for each person, and everyone with edit permission changes the same itinerary in real time. Tripmates can edit in a browser without installing the Aizzie app, though each of them needs an account, and co-editors can use the copilot chat on the shared trip too.
In practice, with Layla one person gathers the group's feedback and applies it to the trip. With Aizzie, each person makes their own changes to the one trip everyone is looking at.
In most groups one person already carries the planning. Klook's 2026 research found 81.8% of Americans believe their group trip would never happen without a dedicated planner, and 60.8% of American planners say the trip only makes it out of the group chat because of them (Klook via PR Newswire; Klook publishes US percentages without a US sub-sample size). The same research lists planners' top stressors.

Of the three, shared editing helps with chasing replies: if the others can change the plan themselves, the planner does not have to act on every reply.
Aizzie and Layla both have a map and a way to use the plan offline, in different forms. Neither difference alone is a reason to switch.
Layla's about page describes three map tools: the video map for inspiration, a multi-destination route map, and a road trip planner with driving times and overnight stops. For offline use, Layla says it generates downloadable PDF itineraries you can keep or send to friends and family.
On Aizzie, the map sits beside the itinerary on desktop web and opens as a separate view on mobile. Each leg between stops shows the travel mode, time and distance, and a Directions link opens that leg in Google Maps. Ask the copilot chat to optimize the route and it reorders the stops. Offline trip access is free and works in the mobile app only, and Aizzie has no PDF export.
Place details differ too. Aizzie's place data comes from Google Maps, so each place card shows that listing's opening hours, rating and review count. Layla's web plan shows a rating and a price for each place. Opening hours on a place card do not confirm that a place will be open on the day you arrive.
Greetwell's 2026 survey of 1,000 US leisure travelers found that among the 485 who had used or tried AI for travel, 55% met at least one recommendation that was inaccurate, unavailable, nonexistent, closed or otherwise wrong (Greetwell). Most travelers already check: Amadeus found 42% always confirm an AI suggestion on another travel site before booking, and 47% sometimes do (Amadeus, 2026, 1,000 US travelers). Whichever tool drafts your trip, confirm hours, prices and cancellation terms before you go.
If you want to book inside the planner or hand the trip to a human, Layla does both, and Aizzie does neither.
Layla's booking runs through its partners across flights, hotels, trains, cars, transfers and activities, and its human travel experts can take a trip from planning through to booking and later changes. Aizzie's hotel and flight links take you to Trip.com, where you complete the booking yourself, and there is no human planning service.
Cornell's Center for Hospitality Research, with Curacity, surveyed 1,029 US travelers and found accuracy the single greatest barrier to adopting AI for travel, cited by over 60% (Cornell / Curacity, 2026). Layla's response is its human travel experts. Aizzie's is to show Google Maps place data and leave the final check with you.
Solo travelers and couples who want to plan and book in one conversation. Layla keeps the itinerary, the prices and the booking in the same chat. Aizzie sends you to Trip.com to book.
Travelers who want a person to take over the trip. Layla offers human travel experts. Aizzie has no equivalent.
Road trippers and multi-city planners. Layla's road trip planner and multi-destination route map are built for routes that cross cities or countries. Aizzie reorders stops when you ask the copilot chat, and sends each leg to Google Maps one at a time rather than as a whole route.
Anyone who wants a printable copy. Layla generates a downloadable PDF itinerary. Aizzie has no PDF export, and its offline access covers the mobile app only.
Aizzie also has no expense tracking or cost-splitting, so a group that needs to settle who paid for what will need a separate tool.
Moving a plan out of the group chat and into a trip everyone can edit takes four steps on Aizzie:
Create the trip from a destination and dates, and add your travel style and interests. Aizzie drafts a day-by-day itinerary.
Invite your tripmates. They can open the trip in a browser without installing the app, though each needs an account.
Set view or edit permission for each person, so the relatives who only need to read the plan cannot reorder it.
Let co-editors use the copilot chat on the shared trip to regenerate a day or ask for changes, instead of sending requests to you.
Talker Research, commissioned by Discover Puerto Rico, surveyed 2,000 US women in 2026 and found that respondents estimate 76% of group trips never make it out of the group chat. Pulling a trip together takes 83 messages, and planners put the work at nearly 19 hours across 11 days (Talker Research).

There is no import from Layla. If you already have a Layla plan, re-create the trip from the same destination and dates, and keep Layla's PDF itinerary open for reference while you adjust the days. Aizzie's PDF and screenshot upload is for bookings such as flight and hotel confirmations, which it adds to the trip timeline. It does not turn a PDF into an itinerary.
Layla's homepage says it is free to use, including help from its human travel experts, with no subscription fee. Its FAQ page describes free trip planning tools with optional upgrades, and its App Store listing says Layla Premium gives your account unlimited access. None of these pages lists what the free tier limits, so check the upgrade screen in the app before you rely on a specific feature.
Not on the web app, as of September 2026. Someone who opens your shared link can view the trip. If they are signed in and ask Layla's chat for a change, it creates a new trip under their own account, and your original stays as it was. Layla's mobile apps were not checked. On Aizzie, invited tripmates with edit permission change the same trip in real time.
Yes. Layla's about page covers flights, hotels, trains, car rentals, transfers and activities, and names Booking.com, Skyscanner and GetYourGuide among its partners. Its FAQ says human travel experts can also plan, book and manage a trip. Aizzie does not book inside the planner. Its hotel and flight links go to Trip.com.
Layla books flights, hotels, trains, car rentals, transfers and activities inside the planner, and its human travel experts can plan, book and manage a trip. It also generates downloadable PDF itineraries and has a road trip planner and a multi-destination route map. If those matter more to you than editing one trip together, Layla is the better fit.
Stay with Layla if you plan alone or as a couple, want to book in the same conversation, or want a human expert to handle the details. Use Aizzie if several people need to edit one itinerary and you do not want to be the one applying everyone's changes.
